Dr Harald Braun has over 30 years’ experience in the analytics and technology innovations field – starting in insurance consulting to some of the biggest reinsurance companies (Swiss Re, Munich Re, Lloyds of London, etc), the last decade of which has been spent in the service of the NHS in service evaluation, definition and redesign.
Harald has played instrumental roles in supporting health economies at the request of NHS England, CSUs, multiple CCGs, provider trusts, ambulance trusts, mental health trusts, NICE, AMRC etc. Harald’s in-depth knowledge of the NHS and the application of Business Intelligence to NHS finance, commissioning, contracting, service transformation and patient pathways in combination with understanding of patient clinical and non-clinical needs has helped him develop many supporting methodologies and algorithms for case finding, system transformation, evaluation of patient care and outcomes. In support of all these ends, Harald is a qualified Caldecott Guardian and fully authorised by NHS Digital to hold and analyse several years of health data.
Amongst the key technologies developed by Harald are AI based identification of undiagnosed conditions, AI based waiting list prioritisation, AI based outcomes prediction, AI based prediction of onset of infection and identification of patients not being optimally treated for LTCs. He has also been delivering algorithms for invoice validation, A&E optimisation, Urgent Care modelling, End of Life service analysis, risk stratification, medicines management, service review systems and patient flow modelling to support commissioners and trusts in developing strategic directions and specific objectives.
Harald’s strategic technology background facilitated in founding and exiting several IT companies it also extends into product development including programming languages and tools such as SQL, Python, Java, C++, .NET (C#, VB), Advanced Excel, Matlab, PowerBI, TensorFlow, etc. including many packages associated with those technologies.
