Helicon Health wins UCL Award for enterprise

Helicon Health, a spin out from UCL Business, was last night presented with the Award for ‘One to Watch’ in the 7th Annual UCL Awards for Enterprise 2014.

The Awards were presented at a ceremony and reception at the UCL Bloomsbury Theatre, London.  They recognise the efforts and accomplishments of UCL’s innovative and entrepreneurial academics and students.   The One to Watch Award specifically recognizes the potential of young company that is displaying excellent business promise.

Helicon Health has developed a unique, cost-saving package of services to help improve outcomes for patients with long-term cardiovascular conditions.  Initially focused on stroke prevention, the company’s integrated approach combines patient management tools and advisory systems, with accredited learning and clinical governance. It is a model for the management of all long-term conditions.

David Patterson, chief executive, Helicon Health said:

“We are delighted to receive this accolade and we are hugely grateful to UCL for all the support they have given us over recent years.  Helicon Health has come a long way in a short time.  Growing numbers of Clinical Commissioning Groups are discovering the benefits of our unique approach and it is great for our team’s work to be recognized in this way.”
